Travel
By Road
Newcastle is located only two hours drive north of Sydney and an easy 50 minute journey to the Hunter Valley or Port Stephens.
Driving from Sydney or the South – Follow the Pacific Motorway (M1) and take the Newcastle Link Road exit which will bring you into the heart of the City. Driving from the West – Newcastle City Centre is accessible from either the New England or Golden Highway.
Driving from the North – Follow the Pacific Highway directly into the City Centre

By Air
Newcastle Airport is a 30-minute drive from the CBD, and you can fly direct to Newcastle from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra and the Gold Coast, as well as regional cities including Ballina/Bryon Bay, Dubbo and Taree. By Train
Newcastle is part of the CityRail network. Frequent daily return services are available heading south on the Newcastle/Central Coast network with access to; Lake Macquarie, the Central Coast, Sydney and surrounding suburbs, and heading north west on the Hunter network providing access to the Lower and Upper Hunter regions.
Trains terminate at Newcastle Interchange from the Hunter, Central Coast and Newcastle lines. A light rail service operates to Honeysuckle station, a 200m walk from NEX.
